My Favorite Wedding

I love weddings!  I have to admit that my all time most favorite wedding was my own!  On July 18, 2014 I married my best friend at our childhood church in Libertyville, Illinois.  On that day I became a wife and a mother!  It was such a treat to find out that our wedding was featured on the Style Me Pretty wedding website!  Please enjoy the online gallery here:

Elizabeth Ann MacDonald Foundation Siblings Mask Event

We had a blast last week at Children's Hospital Los Angeles with the EAMF Siblings Mask Event!  What a fun treat for the siblings of children facing serious illness and extended stays at Children's Hospital.  We crafted really creative masks together and even put on a little show for the parents!  What fun!  I put together this little video...please enjoy!

Reading to kids with SAG Foundation's BookPALS program

Here's a little secret that I'm going to share about getting a little bit of "onstage" experience and giving back to kids in a great way!  The SAG Foundation's BookPALS program provides an opportunity for performers to read to children in public schools, hospitals, libraries, and social service agencies.  It is such a rewarding and fulfilling way to share your love for storytelling and the little secret is, it's a great great way to build on your performing skills and your character voicing skills!  The kids love it and it's a win win for everyone!  In this photo, I'm just getting ready to read Bob Shea's Kid Sheriff and the Terrible Toads, a delightful read with tons of awesome character voices!!!!  The kids loved it!!!

Children's Book Author Drew Daywalt's Treasure Art Hunt!

My favorite children's book author Drew Daywalt is so graciously posting a series of prints signed and numbered in limited editions in various towns/cities around schools, libraries, and Starbucks for children (or other like-minded individuals) to find and keep! They are adorable and funny just like the characters in his best selling award winning children's book The Day The Crayons Quit which is the number one requested book that the kids at the school in which I volunteer, ask me to read! If you are lucky enough to be able to join in on the scavenger hunt you could have a print too! just follow Drew Daywalt on Facebook or Twitter and get out there fast because I'm always on the hunt! So far he has posted a Lost Dog in Oak Park, Ca., a Lost Cat in Brooklyn, NY, a Lost Remote in Pasadena, Ca. and tonight's Lost Chicken in Oak Park, Ca.! Good luck and see you out there!!!!!  While you are at it, pick up a copy of Drew's book and read it to your kids or your friend's kids....they will love you for it!!!!!

staying cuddly warm in sunny Los Angeles!

I was so ready for the major "winter storm" that was supposed to hit Los Angeles today!  I had all of my movie screeners ready to go, a mental list of all of the household chores that needed to be done, plenty of food in the house so there was no need for errands......and my cuddly OnePiece onesie!  All dressed up and ready to stay home!  Why in the world am I surprised that it turned out to be a beautiful sunny breezy Southern California day!???

EAMF Charity Magic Show at Children's Hospital

If you know me, you know I love and adore children!  One of the most gratifying charities that I volunteer for is the Elizabeth A. MacDonald Foundation.  EAMF is a Los Angeles based non-profit organization supporting parents and siblings of children with serious illness and life threatening disease.  EAMF offers a much needed respite for parents and children facing insurmountable circumstances.  It is an honor and a privilege for me to be involved with such an invaluable charity.

Playing the "Real Teacher"

This screen shot is from a short that I did last summer with the amazing director Toni Edge, a wonderful friend, colleague, and fellow photographer.  Also starring in this short are two more colleagues of mine, the very talented Virginia Reece, and Matt Ferrucci.  Watch it below and  have fun!  (some harsh language and PG content)

Onstage and in real life

A few years ago I was cast in the lead role of "Candy" the femme fatale in the world premiere of Whatever Your Heart Desires, by Christine Rosensteel-Savalla.  I had the privilege of working with the very talented Pat Crawford-Brown who played the unfortunate victim in Candy's scheme to win her love.  In the play, Candy concocts a scheme in which she intentionally poisons the elderly Brown "just a little bit", with the intention of "taking care of her" and winning her love.  The play depicts the unfortunate world of elder abuse.  In real life, during the run of this show, I was care taking for a dear friend, Mary, that I had looked after for seven years helping to facilitate her reaching a beautiful 103 years of life.  I will never forget leaving the closing night of the play to be by Mary's side in her final hours. Today, I still spend time with Mary's two sons and my dear friends, Derek and Trevor, 88 and 91 years of age.
